Layered protection

Files Converter uses HTTPS, browser security headers, request validation, rate limits, restricted administrative routes, and separated public and account functions. Dependencies and deployment settings still require ongoing review because no web service can honestly promise zero risk.

What local processing protects

Supported tools process file content inside the browser instead of a conversion queue. This reduces one important exposure path, but it does not remove dangerous macros, embedded metadata, malicious files, risky extensions, compromised devices, or mistakes made when sharing a result.

Account and administrative safety

Use a unique password, protect recovery information, and sign out on shared devices. Administrative functions require controlled authentication and are not exposed as public tools. Files Converter will not ask for a password, verification code, or secret document to diagnose a normal conversion issue.

Safe file practices

Confirm the official domain, update the browser and operating system, scan unknown files, keep an untouched original, and open the result before sharing it. Renaming a file extension does not make content safe. Sensitive workflows should also follow your organization’s security and retention rules.

Responsible disclosure

Report suspected vulnerabilities through the address in /.well-known/security.txt. Include affected URL, environment, reproducible steps, impact, and a minimal proof. Do not access other users’ data, create persistence, run denial-of-service tests, or disclose the issue publicly before coordinated review.
